crozet

volunteer fire company [Station 5]

CVFD was founded in 1910 to serve our community, as well as provide mutual aid support to our neighboring counties of Nelson and Augusta. It’s this tradition of service and dedication to our community that continue to drive and motivate this company. Our new station was built in 1985, and was remodeled in 2009. Our history is very rich in our community, and we continue to voluntarily dedicate our time and service to the citizens of Crozet and the surrounding areas.

Crozet Fire serves over 25,000 citizens in western Albemarle County, and has a running area of approximately 184 square miles. We run approximately 750-800 calls per year ranging from response to fires in residential structures as well as providing support to Western Albemarle Rescue Squad and wildland and forestry fire-suppression service. We have a diverse and dedicated membership of more than 50 skilled volunteers that are willing and able to respond to calls at all hours of the day and night.

We are constantly seeking to expand our membership and scope within our community, and would welcome anyone who is willing to dedicate their time and energy to serving this department and our community. We even have memberships for people who would like to simply volunteer their time outside of actual fire-fighting. If you would like to receive more information please contact our Recruiting Coordinator Lieutenant Ty Milnor at 434-823-4758 Ext. 4. Thank you for your time and we are excited to hear from you soon.
